Alice Birnie: Born in Melbourne but raised primarily in Perth, Alice studied History of Art as her Undergraduate Major in Arts. Currently a postgraduate student undertaking her Masters of Strategic Communications, Alice is especially interested in the way creative culture and the media collide. Having travelled all over the world, she still is constantly surprised and appreciative of the dynamic and creative environment Australia calls it’s own. Alice’s favourite examples of Australian creative culture include the classic film The Castle, and Tasmania’s Museum of Old and New Art. Alice serves as a written creator under the category of Film/Television and Art and Architecture.
Summer Tang: Summer, who comes from China, is a current postgraduate student majoring in Master of Translation Studies (Chinese to English and vice versa) in University of Western Australia. Born in Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province of China, Summer is a girl who finds language exciting and fabulous and she has made up her mind to become a professional translator in the future. Culture is a significant part of language study, so Summer finds it of great benefit to be able to build a Global Media Platform about Australian cultural appreciation. Summer serves as a written creator under the category of Film/Television and Music.
Ariana Zaralia Ari: Ariana is an International student from Indonesia. She is currently doing her Master of Strategic Communication at the University of Western Australia. Ariana has always had an interest in other countries’ culture and enjoys it when people share their country’s culture with her. She initially did not know much about Australia’s creative culture, and only knew it was very different from Indonesia’s creative culture but just as beautiful as it is meaningful. Her favourite go-to places to see Australia’s creative culture are the Art Gallery of Western Australia and the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA). It’s from there that she learned, discovered and grasped Australia’s creative culture. Ariana serves as one of our written creators for both Art and Architecture and Film and Television.
Amy Maslij: Amy was born and raised right here in Perth, she has traveled to a few others states in Australia, Singapore and Bali and would like travel to many more destinations. She completed a Bachelor of Multimedia and is currently studying her Honours in Communication and Media Studies. Amy likes taking in local artistic exhibitions like ‘Sculptures by the Sea’ an event held annually at Cottesloe Beach in March, and attending shows like the ‘Fringe Festival’ that opens in January. Even though Amy is not that artistic herself she is lucky to know many artistic people. There are many great entertainment/artistic exports to come out of Australia, that it’s hard to pick out a favourite however she will give it a go. Amy’s favourite Australian Television show is ‘Spicks and Specks” a Music Quiz show that used to be on ABC. It is now shown nightly as reruns on ABC 2. Musician – Powderfinger. Movie – “The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert”, Actor Heath Ledger just to name a few. Amy serves as one of our written creators for both Art and Architecture and Film and Television.
